Reading List 2017

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

I have a goal to read or listen to 40 books in 2017! Which sounds kind of crazy, but I’m going to do it. I’m keeping track here of what I’ve read and what I thought about it. I hope you’re reading this year too!

  1. The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Morgan and Michael Lennington {Get more done in 12 weeks than others do in 12 months}
    Genre: Business
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 5! I loved this book. For a business/goal setting book, it was the best one I’ve read in years, and completely changed my outlook on work. Highly recommended.
  2. Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith
    Genre: Biography
    Status: Currently reading

    3. The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
    Genre: Fiction-Mystery
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 5! I couldn’t put this book down. I read it on the beach in Mexico and it kept me up late a couple nights. It’s a page turner.

    4. What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
    Genre: Fiction-Mystery
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 5! This is my favorite of all of the Liane Moriarty books I’ve read so far. Loved it.

    5. Pretty Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
    Genre: Fiction-Mystery
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 5! Again. I love this author. Such a good beach or pool read. Sure to keep you entertained and guessing until the last chapter. (Also, there’s an HBO mini series over this book featuring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. It’s pretty racy…hello HBO….but it was good.)

    6. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (and other concerns) by Mindy Kaling
    Genre: Humor
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 4.5 I loved this book. Mindy is hilarious and has a great perspective on life and work. It’s an easy, light read and will have you laughing out loud.

    7. A Bridge Across the Ocean by Susan Meissner
    Genre: Historical Fiction
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 4.5 Loved this book too. I spent a couple nights up late, late, late reading this book. It’s Titanic meets the Nightingale, meets ghost story. It sounds super weird, but it was so good.

    8. Without Rival by Lisa Bevere
    Genre: Christian Living
    Status: Currently Reading

    9. Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist
    Genre: Christian Living
    Status: Finished
    Stars: 5. This book is a life changer. Based on the amount of things I highlighted and wrote “Amen” next to, you simply MUST read this one. It’s written in and essay format which makes for an easy read, and the chapters are short, which is always a plus in my book.

    10. The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins
    Genre: Management and Leadership: Motivational
    Status: Currently Reading {This is the Summer Book Club book for my Scentsy team!}
