Long time no chat….I know. But I’m back, and we’ve been busy around the Dalke house. I thought since I’m not on social media right now, this 5 share Friday post would be a fun way to stay in touch. I figured I’d normally share what I’m currently reading, listening to, growing, planning, and writing about (because guess what? I finally got serious about writing that book I’ve been working on forever!)
So here are my 5 shares for the week…
Reading– Well, Brian and I stopped watching TV this year, so there’s that. And because of that, I’ve already read 20 books so far this year!
I’m usually reading 2-3 at a time. This week it’s The 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris, You’re a Writer by Jeff Goins, and What Happens in Paradise by Erin Hilderbrand
Listening to– You guys…..Maverick City Music….have you listened to this!? It’s on repeat all the dang time in my house. Just go listen. They’re amazing
Growing– So I’m a total plant nerd. Like obsessed. This is my current obsession. Her name is Jessica (named after a particularly inappropriate statue from the house we rented in Mexico a couple summers ago for our 1st dreamers + doers retreat) and she’s just one of my many fiddle leaf figs. After we re-did our stairs with new carpet and paint, I knew she needed a star spot in the house.
Planning– more retreats!
Yes we’re doing it! We actually have our 1st Dreamers + Doers retreat scheduled for Thursday, April 15-17 at our home just north of Oklahoma City, OK. We have space for 9 women to come and dream and heal and grow, and I’m over the moon excited!
Plus, we have a Marriage Retreat coming up in May at our home, and then we’re hosting 2 retreats in Mexico this Summer!
️Writing about– whew this week of writing was a doozey. I’ve committed to writing 2,000 words a day until this dang book is DONE. And this week all I wrote about was brokenness. I may or may not have sobbed for a hot minute in the writing shack, but no worries, I’ll celebrate a week of writing soon with my extra share this week.
And an extra this week…..
️What I’m drinking– Have you ever had a French 75? It’s a cocktail. I made them for my momma’s birthday a few weekends ago, and they were amazing. You can check out the recipe here. It’s a mix of champagne, simple syrup, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and your choice of gin or vodka. If you try it, let me know.
