Feeling stuck is the worst. Your body is full of tension, and your mind feels swirled up and confused. I know. I’ve been there many times.
When you have a dream you’re chasing, it can often feel like you’re not sure what to do next. And worse still, sometimes when you start chasing a dream, it can all of sudden feel like that dream you once thought was possible is actually really far away.
Maybe it even feels impossible.
I was reading through some journal entries from 5 years ago recently, and I was so encouraged to see that some of the dreams we had back then that I thought were going to be nearly impossible, are happening now.
I knew that God had planted a dream in our hearts to own land and create space for people to rest, heal, dream, and grow, but I had no idea where that land would be. And there were so many other seemingly impossible questions:
- how would we afford this land?
- would we live on it?
- if we lived on it, did the school district matter?
Today…we live on 50 acres outside a little town that no one’s ever heard of (except those of us who live here and LOVE it). My kids are in an entirely different school district than we were 5 years ago. And we managed to pay cash for that land.
All this active dream chasing has taught me that while you take what feels like one tiny step at a time towards your dreams, God is working ahead of you, clearing a way for those things that seem impossible to you, but that are no big deal to Him.
while you take what feels like one tiny step at a time towards your dreams, God is working ahead of you, clearing a way for those things that seem impossible to you, but that are no big deal to Him.
Sometimes you can only see those things as you look backward.
So the next time you feel stuck in the middle of dream chasing, remember that as a Christ follower, you are never truly dream chasing alone. And even when it doesn’t feel like it, God is going ahead of you, making a way for your wildest dreams to come true.
So don’t stop dreaming, friend.
When you and your spouse are ready to dream together, come dream with us!
Continuing to cheer you on towards bigger dreams and greater purpose,
XO- Allison
